My Introduction
My name is Kalsang Kyi. I am twenty seven years old and I was born in a small village in Eastern Tibet. I have three brothers and three sisters. I am the youngest child in my family. I was spoiled by all members of the family. When I was a little girl my mother died, so my father has taken care of me ever since. My father sent me go to school when I was six years old.
I became a Tibetan and Chinese language teacher since I graduated from a college. I spent five years teaching near the Qing Hai Hu lake.
Qing Hai is a very beautiful place, especially the area around Qing Hai Hu. In my village we can eat a lot of fruits, like peaches, watermelon, grapes and pears. In Qing Hai all people think that our county is the most beautiful place. Many national geographers think the cleanest water of the Yellow River is in our region Tirga. When I was a teacher in Tibet, I often listened to the voice of America in Chinese and Tibetan. I usually researched about the Tibetan issues from the government in exile's website I knew the Chinese had changed Tibetan history. In the school where I taught, most of the students were Tibetan, but some China leaders think that teaching Tibetan is useless and that the Tibetan language can't be of any service to society. So the teaching programmer of my school changed again and again. In Tibet we have no chance to know the condition of Tibetan and to learn Tibetan
education and politic. I felt helpless and upset, because I was a teacher, but I still couldn't tell my students about the real history of Tibet. Chinese employers are more and more in the school and Tibetan graduates are losing chances to work in any institutions. It was this sad condition that I had to decide to depart my country and came to India in March 2007.
I had been studying English for two years in Tibetan transit school in India .It is an adult school for newcomers from Tibet .On 14 June 2009, I joined E .S. Trust .In this school we do not to pay any money, all these facilities are free. I think this is my last chance to study .I will treasure this opportunity.
My dream is to be an English teacher in the future in Tibet. I know it is not easy to learn the English language well. But I'm willing to work very hard to turn my dream into reality.
Thanking you
