My Introduction
My name is Sherab. I am from Amdo in eastern Tibet. I am 23 and my early years were spent up on the plain with the small herd of Yaks, as the destiny of my village.
Jongdong Ling is the name of my village. I was born there and grew up there. Although the people in my village are mostly illiterate, I was brought up on the laps of my kind-hearted and generous but uneducated parents. The poor condition of educational facilities in my village is a obstacle that troubles all kids to gain knowledge and become good caretakers of their society. How much your kids are smart, intelligent and keen to study, they are merely being wasted behind some cattle their whole life. Their knowledge is limited around only their neighbor villages so far. Some of them had never been to our county that is 30km from our village. This seems to be an unavoidable fate that suffers my people to live their whole lives under the shadow of ignorance.
There is no question that I was one of those kids who were professional shepherds and cowboys, but I was luckier than them. I have been sent to India because my father was the only one who knew something about Tibetan issues and the importance of education. It was year 2007 when I was crossing the Himalaya to come to India, for creating my life meaningful.

After the ordeal of the journey I reached India and became a student of T.T.S School. There I had studied two years and then I have become a student of E.S.Tibet in 2009.
As His Holiness the Dalai Lama has always said I am only a visitor to this planet. So, my wishes and hopes in this visit are to be a person who is well-prepared to contribute his sweat for the welfare of the people of the world.
Thanking you
