A valuable project
I will never forget my first day at the school, when I sat down for breakfast with 25 people whom I had never met and felt completely comfortable. Comfortable may not be a 'big' word but to me it was a remarkable feeling to experience in that situation. And that feeling has continued day after day, in a place where love, understanding and an open heart make the school a valuable learning environment and a wonderful home. I learn from the students, they learn from me, it all works perfectly.
I have never lacked options; I have never had to walk across the Himalayas risking death, frostbite or imprisonment and torture so I can have such simple gifts as an opinion, or see the flag of my country. I have never had to risk my life for education. Every single student here has left their family, their way of life and risked everything to come here and be given a chance.
This school is a valuable project; it not only provides an education to those who want it, but a safe home and a family. I wish that words could really express what it is like to be a part of this project. I love teaching here, but more than that I love the students and respect their bravery and their dedication to education.
